Traute Ishida, aged 88, peacefully passed away on October 1,2024 in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on March 6, 1936 in Germany. Traute was an acclaimed artist and a revered professor of art history and painting at Lincoln University. Her artistic contributions were recognized globally, with her works included in the archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution.
Traute lived life vibrantly and on her own terms, remembered fondly for her boundless creativity and unique spirit. Throughout her illustrious career, she exhibited her artwork worldwide, influencing, and inspiring countless students and art enthusiasts.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 61yrs, Susumu Ishida; her daughters Christina Ishida and Annette Ishida (Franco Braccia) and her son Jeffrey (Heather) Ishida. Grandma of Justin Doherty, James (Katie) Doherty, Daniel Ishida and Mason Ishida.
No Visitation at this time but A Funeral Service is being planned at a later date.
Traute, a liver transplant survivor, lived life vibrantly and on her own terms. Therefore the family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
