Thomas J. Corcoran, age 66 of Pittsburgh passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2021.
Tom was born in Washington, PA to Regina and William Corcoran on July 28, 1954. Tom is
survived by his brother John Corcoran of St Petersburg, FL, and his nephew Billy (and family) in
Annville, PA.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Regina C. Corcoran brother,
William J. Corcoran; and by a sister and a brother, both of whom died in infancy.
Tom had a successful career in the IT field first in coding and then sales, working his way up to
managing multi-million dollar companies. Along the way, he always mentored his coworkers and
employees to be the best that they could be to succeed in business.
Tom owned a bar/restaurant, Red Door, in downtown Pittsburgh where he continued to connect
people and encourage friendships. He always made sure that his customers enjoyed themselves
and got to know each other without the distraction of television.
After retiring from IT, Tom worked for the Census Bureau for a number of years, retiring in
2020.
Tom was always there for his many friends over the years. He was also an animal lover
especially rescues. Tom loved Pittsburgh and his ‘house on the hill’
A Memorial Service will be held at Stephen Brady Funeral Home, 920 Cedar Avenue, Pittsburgh,
PA 15212 on Saturday, July 24 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
