Peter Kavalis, 70, of the North Hills, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and deep love for his family. Born on May 4th, Peter was a lifelong member of his community and a familiar, respected face to many. He dedicated 42 years to Ross Township as a skilled and dependable mechanic. He took great pride in his work, always willing to lend a hand and known for his knowledge, work ethic, and reliability. Peter had a true passion for cars, especially racing and working on them. Nothing brought him more satisfaction than being under the hood, fine-tuning an engine or talking shop with friends. His beloved 1969 Dodge Dart was a centerpiece of that passion—something he took pride in and enjoyed sharing with others. While he loved cars and racing, nothing meant more to Peter than his family. As “Popal,” he was a devoted and proud grandfather who rarely missed his grandchildren’s sporting events. Whether it was cheering from the stands, offering encouragement, or simply being there, he was one of their biggest supporters and took great joy in watching them grow and succeed. He also shared a lifelong love for the Pittsburgh Steelers, always following the team closely and enjoying every game day. Peter, son of the late Steve and Irene Kavalis, was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Chrissy. He is survived by his loving stepchildren, Aaron, Sarah, Andrew, Rachel, Courtney, and Kenny; his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Hannah, Garrett, Aria, and Jack; his beloved sisters, Marianne and Stacey; and his niece, Samantha, all of whom he loved deeply. Peter will be remembered for his loyalty, his hands-on spirit, his kidding nature, and the unwavering love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on with all who knew him.
A Celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 29th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stephen M. Brady Funeral Home 920 Cedar Avenue Pitts. PA. 15212
