Nancy May Schafer

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy May Schafer, 81, of Pittsburgh, PA on February 6th, 2025. Nancy, daughter of the late Josephine (Gosley) and Clarence Schafer, was born on May 1st, 1943.

Nancy proudly served her community as a nurse’s aide at Allegheny General Hospital for over thirty years. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching her favorite daytime tv shows, and collecting Barbie dolls.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Angela Schafer, her sister, Shirley Mignella, Shirley’s children Richard Mignella, and Stephanie (John) Petitta, who lovingly helped care for her, as well as, many other nieces and nephews.

Nancy has found eternal peace alongside her siblings Clarence Schafer, Elizabeth Faas, Alice Jansen, Raymond Schafer, Richard Schafer, Lillian Boscia, Thomas Schafer, and Joseph Schafer.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Nancy will be held on February 23rd, 2025. Please contact Stephanie for additional details.
