Mary Weiser Obituary

Mary Jane Weiser

July 27, 1945 - April 13, 2025

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, Mary Jane Weiser passed away peacefully at the age of 76.  Beloved mother to Dionna Weiser and her daughter Madison, the late Tracy Weiser, and James (Crystal) Weiser. Adored grandmother of the late Breann Weiser, Katlyn, Nicholas, Landon, and Bella Weiser. Great grandmother to Kaiden Kiefer, Liam Weiser, and Elias Lofink. Great-great grandmother to Anastasia Kiefer. And unofficial "grandma" to so many others.

Mary was born in Pittsburgh, PA and learned strength from a young age. She married her husband 'Jim' at a very young age, and the rest is history. They decided to build their new life together in the North Boros, living on Forest Avenue for years, and eventually California Avenue in Avalon.

To know Mary, meant you knew her resilience and drive was fueled by the greatness and success of all of her children. She worked tirelessly at many jobs through the years, but her most regular gig was as babysitter. Mary raised many children, most of them not even her own. She could have run a fully-funded after-school care business if she wanted.

The family shares fond memories of spending summers at Avalon pool, watching spooky movies on Grandma's *Big Box Flatscreen TV, and the many birthday parties that she moved heaven and earth to put on.

Mary's favorite animal was the lion. It is fitting, given her tenacious personality and fierce commitment to family and community. Majesty, strength, the Great Mother, courage, nobility. These qualities that describe the lion are the foundation of who Mary Weiser was.

Please join us for a visitation on Thursday from 11 to 12pm followed by burial at Uniondale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Mary's memory to support her love of animals
