Mark R. Bell
Mark Bell, 72, of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at
Allegheny General Hospital on Friday November 17, 2023.
He was born on September 15, 1951 in Natrona Heights, the son of the late H. Wayne Bell and Lucille K. O’Malley Bell.
In 1969, he graduated from Highlands High School and in 1975 Mark earned
a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Temple University.
After a career in Information Services at the Pennsylvania Electric Company,
Mark took an early retirement option that enabled him to
pursue his love of fly fishing, travel, playing pool, and baseball.
In retirement, Mark delighted in several part-time jobs that included working as a ticket agent
for USAIR in Key West Florida for 7 years
and then as a ticket agent for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mark fly fished throughout the American West, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Christine Bell of Pittsburgh, his siblings Marsha Davis of Brackenridge and Judy (Chris) Lentz of Natrona Heights.
Mark had three much loved godchildren, Michael Bell of East Butler, Kayla Lentz of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and Tre Greenwood of Bear, Delaware.
He is also survived by and very proud of his ten nephews and great nephews and twelve nieces and great nieces.
Mark was known for his wonderful sense of humor and generosity. He maintained a positive attitude throughout his illness.
Although Mark was never able to receive a lifesaving kidney transplant, he was, upon his death an organ donor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter Church at 10:00am on Saturday December 2, 2023.
