Lillian Coulter Obituary

Lillian "Lil" Coulter

January 28th, 1925 - September 12th, 2025

A life well lived

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Lillian Coulter. Even at 100 she still had her quick wit and kind heart which she thankfully had passed onto her family. Northside girl from birth to her passing Lil was always known for her Humor, Intelligence, kind heart and hard work ethic, and finally the creator of Lillens restaurant ( East Ohio ST.) where she sold her famous chicken. Born unto John and Lillian Sloblonik and sister to Francis "Fran", Eleanor "Ellie", John Jr., and Marie. Lil had a Love for family, PGH sports teams (especially the Steelers), Duck pin bowling (winning many trophies), hot air balloon festivals, WWE wrestling, camping at treasure lake, and Hawaii. She also volunteered into her 60s and worked polls during elections. Wife to the late Lenard "Lenny" Coulter, Mother to the late Donna (Benton) Miltenberger, and Linda (Benton) Beatty, and Grandmother to Deborah "Debbie" Carpenter-Cross, Daniel Carpenter, Gregory Miltenberger, Kristopher Miltenberger, Kevin Beatty, Lee-Ann Beatty, and Lucas Beatty. Lil a graduate of David B. Oliver H.S., worked in retail in her early years and became a Wife and Mother. She found a job working at a coffee shop chain called Donut delight where she started as a counter girl and working her way up to manager, then superintendent overseeing multiple locations. When the opportunity presented itself, she Bought the East Ohio street location and created

Lil and Lens = Lillens restaurant. She being a sports fan, went with the black and

gold color scheme for her restaurant with Steeler/Pirates décor here and there throughout the restaurant. She also owned Sherm Edwards candies located on the same street for a short time. Once Lenny fell ill and passed away from cancer the place wasn't the same, so she sold the business. She loved enjoying time with her families, bowling, card club, football games, traveling with friends and family, and Hot air balloon festivals until leg injuries and macular degeneration (type of blindness) minimized some of her freedom. Despite this she still enjoyed her family and sports until her passing. This Matriarch had a profound effect on her family and though her physical presence will be forever missed we carry her, her love, and teachings inside us every day. She was and always will be a mom, grandma, great grandma, and a great- great grandma. She is survived by her daughter Linda, her 7 grand kids, 13 great- grand kids, 4 great -great-grand kids.

There will be a grave side ceremony TBA. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate in her name to Children's Hospital. She always said her greatest accomplishment was being a mom, grandmother, etc, and would often talk about how blessed she was able see and be apart of soo many generations.
