Jean Blow was born on September 20, 1935 in Columbus, GA, the
only child of the late Lilla and James Austin.
In her early teenage years, she moved to the city of Pittsburgh. She
was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System and proudly
graduated with high honors from Fifth Avenue High School..
A few years after graduating, she met the man who would later
become her husband, Thomas Lester Blow. They married in 1960
and started building their family. They lived in St. Clair Village and
raised their family with love and dedication, making their children’s
needs a top priority. Jean and Thomas remained married until his
death on December 5, 2014, lasting for more than 30 years.
Jean loved shopping and was a sophisticated lady with style. She was
known throughout St. Clair Village as a top-notch, detailed
seamstress who incorporated experience, passion and
professionalism into everything she made. Her creations were
amazing and always beautiful.
Jean leaves to celebrate her life four (4) children; Terry (Robert)
Thomas, Jr., (Laverne), Jay (LayLay) and Kelly (Tony); 15
grandchildren; Rakell who was her dedicated caregiver, Raheem,
Ronell, Jayla, Terrale, Myesha, Kwelin, Berkeley, Kevin, Brandon,
Tenesha, Thomas, Tierra, Tyler and Cameo; a host of great
grandchildren,
several great-great grandchildren and a few friends.
