Janice Marie McKee

March 6th, 1953 - May 31st, 2025

 

Janice McKee  was a current resident of Braddock, Pennsylvania and former resident of Kennett Square Pennsylvania, she passed away on May 31st, 2025, after a long battle with Cancer.  She was born in Mobile Alabama to parents Dessie Ree McKee and James McKee.  Janice was the second youngest of 9 siblings and a graduate of Kennett High School.  Janice became a HealthCare Professional at Kendall/Crossland, Linden Hall and her beloved private duty.

Her love of fishing has always been her pride and joy.  From Georgetown Delaware to Anson B Nixon Park wherever there was an ocean, riverbank or pond she was there.  Crabbing with her sisters and brothers in Maryland or playing slots at Delaware Park. 

Janice leaves her cherish children, Tanesa McKinney (Earl) of Raleigh North Carolina, Andrea McKee (Stephanie) of Braddock Pennsylvania, Mackey Lloyd of Norfolk Virginia, Michelle Murphy ( Ronnie) of Camden South Carolina. Six Grandchildren: Stephen Valentine Jr (Amber), Earl McKinney Jr, Emani McKinney, Mashylla Murphy, Mazon Gease.  Three great grandchildren; Karter, Stephen II and Autumn Valentine.

Janice leaves three brothers, Robert Norton(Sarah) of Birmingham, Alabama, Howard McClain of Kennett Square, Rickie L. McKee (Barbara) of Atlanta Georgia; Two sisters, Mary Lee McClain of Kennett Square, PA, Brenda Davis (Kenny) of Houston, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Her beautiful friends Nettie, Elva, Karen and Reecie.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Dessie Ree and James McKee,  Mack Lloyd, her long time companion, three brothers Leanord McClain, Clifton McKee and Benson McKee (Lisa). One son, Micheal Lloyd; Two nephews, Keith McClain & Timmy Stevens.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am, June 28th 2025 at

Second Baptist Church, 132 S. Willow Street, Kennett Square, PA 

Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of service. The theme color is purple and white.
