Evgeniya Gorlova Obituary

Evgeniya Sergeyevna Gorlova

September 14, 1943 — April 5, 2025

On April 5, 2025, at 2:58 AM, Evgeniya Sergeyevna Gorlova passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by love and family.

A woman of great strength, quiet resilience, and boundless devotion to her children, she lived her life with dignity, warmth, and unwavering care for those she loved.

Born in Kherson, Ukraine, during one of the most difficult times in history, she grew into a mother who faced life’s challenges head-on. In 1980, after a divorce, she single-handedly rebuilt her family’s world — renovating their room in a communal apartment while her children were away at summer camp, and creating a fresh, hopeful space with borrowed funds and endless determination.

She raised her son and daughter on her own, showing them beauty and culture, traveling across the Soviet Union to introduce them to art, architecture, and history — believing deeply that experiences shape the soul.

In 1997, she endured the tragic loss of her daughter. Despite her grief, she continued forward, anchored by love and quiet purpose.

In the early 2000s, she immigrated to the United States to be near her son and spent her later years surrounded by family, care, and deep gratitude.

Evgeniya leaves behind her loving son, daughter in law, and six grandchildren, who will remember her as a symbol of kindness, inner strength, and unwavering maternal love.

Her final hours were calm. She left this world as she lived — with grace, but her presence remains in the hearts of her family,

in the quiet memories of her strength, and in the warmth she gave so freely.

A farewell gathering will be held at:

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Chapel

8941 Ringeisen Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101

on Wednesday April 9, 2025

Visitation will be held 10 AM till 11 AM with a 11 AM service to follow.
