Danny Cliff Yates
Danny Cliff Yates, son born to Edward B. Yates Sr. and Mary Lee (Bumpass) Yates
Was born on July 4th, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Danny departed this life on August 10th, 2020, at Monongahela Hospital.
From this union, Danny was the fifth child of six children.
Danny graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1974 with an academic diploma.
He was a high honored student and belonged to the National Honor Society.
He studied the tenor saxophone at Westinghouse and became a fluent saxophonist.
He went on to the University of Pittsburgh studying Urban Affairs and Economics.
Danny loved playing the saxophone, later joining his elder brother Robert Yates' (Bobby's) ensemble,
"The Family Band", where they entertained across Pennsylvania and numerous other states.
Danny also enjoyed singing and performed many solos where he wooed the crowd with his beautiful voice.
Danny also composed and wrote songs from his heart.
Later, the youngest brother (Latin Yates) joined the band along with his elder brother.
It was truly a "Family Band".
Danny was a lover of family and always brought a smile to the faces of his parents and siblings.
Danny's career began at West Penn Hospital where he worked for several years,
Transferring to the Pennex Packing and Shipping Company.
Danny leaves cherished memories to his two loving children
Erika Yaters "Le Ester" and Daniel T. Yates (Verna).
Jammie Corbit, his significant other,
Two brothers: Robert "Bobby" Yates and Latin Yates, and
Two sisters: Mary "Muffy" Harper and Lelia "Rosetta" Walker.
Danny has 18 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He had a host of cousins and friends that cannot be numbered.
Danny was a peaceful man and was kind to all!
