BARRY DIETRICH
On September 11, 2020, Barry M. Dietrich passed away at age 91. He was born December 26, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA the loving son of Gertrude B. and Louis E. Dietrich and beloved husband of the late June Belkin-Dietrich; father of Janis (Mitch) Rosenburg and Dwight (Carolyn) Dietrich; grandfather of Lauren (Ricky) Melendy, Anthony (Melissa) Gilberti, Elizabeth Dietrich, Erik Dietrich, Cara Dietrich: stepfather of Frances (Scott) Shahan and Ronald (Kelly) Belkin; step-grandfather of Jennifer Rosenburg and Josh (Joy) Rosenburg; and great-grandfather to a host of great-grandchildren. Barry served the United States Army Corp of Engineers in post-war Germany and had a distinguished career in the electrical construction industry with the Pittsburgh contracting firm Frame Electric Company. With a Bachelors of Management degree from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University), Barry served as Frame Electric’s certified professional engineer leading the innovation, design and implementation of custom commercial and industrial electrical power systems for some of Pittsburgh’s leading enterprises and major building owners including ALCOA, Mellon Bank, the Union Trust Building, the Gulf Building, Westinghouse Electric, the University of Pittsburgh, the Oliver Building, and his home of 50 years, the Allegheny Center complex. Private family gatherings will be held.
