Barbara Ann (Vukmanic) Leposki, age 85, of Shaler Township, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on April 28, 2024. She was born on May 20, 1938, in Pittsburgh. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Barbara Vukmanic, her former husband Euguene, her brother John, and grandson Jacob. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Paul) Martin, Wexford,PA., Diane (John) Mitchell, Austin, TX, Alison Leposki, San Antonio, TX, and Gene (Sharon) Leposki, Dallas, TX; grandchildren Alexandria, Danielle, Eric, and Natalie; her brother Nicholas and sister Nancy; and her dear cousin Carol who was like a sister to her; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Barbara grew up in Manchester and graduated from St. Benedict High Academy in 1956. She was a loving and dedicated mother who was active in her children's and grandchildren’s lives. Barbara was employed at various companies and excelled in management and the hospitality industry because she loved talking to people. She was an outgoing and social person, active in many community organizations in Penn Hills including the PTA, Welcome Wagon, and the Girl Scouts. Barbara lived in Austin, TX, and Fort Myers, FL, for a number of years and loved to dance, travel, read, and go out and visit with family and friends. She loved cats and had many “grandkitties” over the years. She also loved to celebrate her “birthday month”, holidays, and was often glued to the romantic movies on the Hallmark Channel. Barbara enjoyed a good glass of wine or a Margarita when socializing.
There will be a memorial service on May 31st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Church, 2001 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw PA, for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Animal Friends, c/o Development Department, 562 Camp Horne Road Pittsburgh, PA 15237, in Barbara’s name.
