Anna Mae Murphy Helenkamp was born on March 16. 1944 in Pittsburgh. PA to LaRosa Mae Murphy and Homer Murray. She attended Westinghouse High School and graduated from Connelley Skill-Learning Center in 1981. She held careers in early childhood learning and security. In 1989. Anna married Carl E. Helenkamp.
Anna loved all things Steelers and enjoyed playing cards, telling jokes. thrift shopping, decorating for holidays, listening to gospel music. playing her numbers. and making home-cooked meals for loved ones. She was very involved in her church and volunteered with Boy Scouts as a den mother. Anna's home was the official place for holiday and family gatherings for decades. In her home, she also lovingly raised generations of children.
Anna was preceded in death by: husband Carl. parents LaRosa and Homer. siblings Johnny, Ronnie, Janice. Mildred, Arlene, Myrtis, and Raymond. and children Rochelle and Ronnie.
Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory: siblings Robin and Robert. children: Rose. William, Bennie (Terry), Mark (Dorene), Clara (Dom).
Regina. Michelle, Angie, Lorandas, Brittanie, Kayla, William, and Myirah. as well as a host of grandchildren, other close relatives and long time friends, including Irene and the late Gilda.
Anna's love and generosity touched everyone around her. We hope she feels the deep appreciation and love we have for her as she lives on in our hearts forever. Rest well, Anna Mae.
