Ana Almendarez Obituary

Ana Maria Almendarez passed away on September 28, 2024, at the age of 66. Born and raised in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Mary Almendarez and the late Jesus Almendarez, whom she considered her best friend.

Ana was the proud mother of Abbriana (Bradley) Eckendahl with whom she shared with her former spouse, Peter Rifugiato. Most importantly, she was a devoted grandmother to Aubree Sophia, Mason, and Emersyn Eckendahl. She is survived by her five siblings and a large extended family, as well as countless lifelong friends who adored and cherished her.

Ana embraced a life filled with adventure and a deep appreciation for life’s beautiful moments. With her strong will and determination, she forged a tremendously successful career and generously provided for her family. Ana always had a story to tell, many laughs to share, and a comforting hand to hold. She carried such deep, genuine love and compassion within her and those who knew her were blessed.

Despite her many achievements, her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She relished every moment spent creating lasting memories with her grandchildren, whether through playful activities, heartfelt conversations, or the simple joys of everyday life. One of her favorite daily rituals was taking them to the school bus each morning—a moment she treasured deeply filled with hugs and encouraging words. Each farewell was a chance to remind them of their boundless potential, and those precious moments will forever be etched in their hearts.

A fierce protector and a source of love for many, Ana will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of warmth, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She often told her daughter, “I will always be with you,” a sentiment we will live by to remind us that she will be with us always. Until we see her again, she will live on in our hearts.

NO VISITATION at this time but a private celebration of life is being planned for a later date
