About Us

Brady Funeral Home was established in the early 1920’s by Stephen Brady I. There followed a couple relocations until he settled in Vandergrift, PA. He passed away in 1939, but left his wife and two sons John (Jack) and Francis to carry on the profession. World War II changed their plans and both entered the US Army. After returning from overseas Jack came to Pittsburgh to supervise Reel Funeral Home at 215 West Ohio Street, and became their successor. He took a partner- Peter Lalikos who stayed until his passing in 1955. Jack managed the home until 1976.  A number of people through the years have had an invaluable impact on the business. Current licensed staff includes  LeeAnn Sherman (Supervisor). Non licensed staff includes our expert office management team..

Brady Memorial Home, in Spring Hill/City View, opened its doors in 1992 after extensive renovation of the landmark Spring Hill School that closed in 1937. The American Legion operated there from 1937 thru 1989. Finally in 1990 it was sold to the Bradys. The Spring Hill Civic League and Darlene Harris welcomed us into the community. We have grown since then and have proudly participated in many neighborhood events. Kristen Courtney is the supervisor.
